The Iowa women’s cross-country runners proved themselves on the course Sept. 12 at Illinois State.
Thirteen Hawkeyes competed to earn a second-place team finish while eight of them were sophomores. The sophomore class had 4 runners place in the top 25 which include Katie Adams, Sammie Zishka, Courtney Bruns, Tess Wilberding, and Carolyn Newhouse.
The leader of the pack this weekend was Katie Adams placing sixth overall and setting her personal best time of 17:51 in the 5,000-meter race.
