Without any official word from the UI, Iowa Wrestling indicated earlier today on Twitter that a meet will be held at Kinnick Stadium on November 14 this fall.
Here’s what they tweeted:

Instead of the typical temperature-controlled atmosphere of Carver-Hawkeye Arena, wrestlers would face possible cold and rainy conditions in the spirit of what the NHL does with it’s “Winter Classic” games in outdoor stadiums.
Interestingly, Iowa Football hosts Minnesota that same night at 7 p.m., suggesting a possible double-header encompassing two of Iowa’s most beloved sports.
Iowa Wrestling’s schedule has yet to be announced, meaning this event will likely not be confirmed until the schedule is officially released.
It’s unclear how exactly the coaches and athletes would react to non-ideal weather conditions, but a unique and historic venue for the sport figures to drive a fair amount of excitement from both casual and hardcore Iowa Wrestling fans.
